What a wonderful Christmas!

This Christmas was so wonderful... on top of all the thoughtful gifts I recieved, I loved every moment spent with my family and friends... and the sweet peace I felt in my heart as I pondered on the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. The following is what I received from my sweet husband:
- Sony mp3 player (mine is pink) with an arm band. This will be PERFECT for when I go work out! I can also go running with Solomon (my little brother) who is training for football.
- J. Lo Glow lotion
- The most comfortable sweater from the Gap... light blue sherpa.
- Pajama pants from American Eagle. (cute cute cute!!!) One is red plaid and the other is white with little penguins all over it. Love it!
- Lots of cute earrings!
- Neat little stocking stuffers...including facials, lotions and other little goodies
From my family:
- Victoria Secret PJ's from my mother in law
- A new knife set from my brothers (much needed)
- Pots and Pans from Chelsea and Shawn (also much needed)
- Beautiful sterling silver large hoop earrings from my mother and father
- Cool software for my computer
- A new Lexmark printer/scanner/copier from my parents. Woo hoo!
- A Play With Your Food 2006 calander from Chelsea... a tradition.
- Some money from my thoughtful Grandparents.
- Other small things.... my mom thought it would be funny to put a pregnancy test in my stocking! Silly woman... she really wants us to have a baby.
It was such a happy Christmas for me and I am so thankful for my many blessings.

Merry Christmas!!!
I love this painting by Greg Olsen. I always have a sweet feeling in my heart as I think about Jesus Christ as a tiny baby... and I always wonder how it must have felt to be His mother. To me, this picture just portrays a beautiful feeling of peace and love. The look of adoration is on the faces of baby Jesus' parents. I am so grateful for the many blessings that have come to me through Jesus Christ and His Gospel. This Christmas, I just want to ponder on the miracle that happened long ago, when our Savior was born in a humble stable.I haven't written anything in a few days... for obvious reasons considering the time of the year. But lots of fun and exciting things coming up!! Tonight my family will have a small get together, and then tomorrow I will (eek!) start and finish my Christmas shopping. In the evening we will go to Adam's parents house and open presnets and eat dinner. On Christmas Day, we will spend the day at my parents except for when Steven, Adam's brother, calls from Chicago. (he is a missionary there). I am very much enjoying the season although I wish that there was snow on the ground! It IS supposed to snow on Sunday, but we'll see... I have pretty much all of my shopping to do. I say this every year but next year I will try and get it all done early! Traffic in Lexington, KY is the worst. Seriously. I have bought all of Adam's stocking stuffers. I'm excited to open mine :^) I did convince him to give me a few of the things though... (I'm sneaky) He got me some earrings, a facial, and my favorite.... a small Franklin Covey monthly planner. I love it! He is so sweet... that little planner will help me out a ton!!!

Chronicles of Narnia and other happenings this weekend

Adam and I were supposed to go to a Christmas party at our church last Friday but decided against it because we had so much Christmas shopping and stuff to do. So we went to Target, one of my most favorite stores in the world, and bought eachother stocking stuffers. It was so much fun!! We just split up and went our separate ways and met eachother outside. After that we decided to go watch Chronicles of Narnia, which had just opened. What an impressive movie that is!! There were so many parallels to the Gospel... good and evil, and Christ's life. So it really made me think... when you're little, you don't think about stuff like that. You just think about the story and not the deeper things.
Then, on Saturday, we took a little trip to Louisville and went to the Cheescake Factory for lunch. Expensive, but delicious. I was in the mood for something a little home-cookedish (if that's a word), so I got the meat loaf with mashed potatoes and vegtables. It was a meal for THREE PEOPLE! I am NOT kidding! I ate about 1/8th of it and took the rest of it home. I had to leave room for desert... which was a combination of two favorites... Pumpkin Pie and Cheesecake! A Pumpkin Cheesecake! And I am telling you... it was to DIE for!!

One Cute Kid

My friend Kristi brought in her son for the last few minutes before she went home from work today. He is SUCH a cutie!!! I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said "Roses that I can give to my mommy" Then he pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from the back pocket of his overalls and handed it to me. He said "This is my wist" (list) Wanna know what was on the list? NOTHING!! It was just so cute. Then I told him he was really cute and asked him if I could have an autograph... but he said he didn't have one... what a cutie. This is a picture that Kristi took with her camera phone... I am sitting at my desk at work showing him some Hoops and Yoyo cartoons. You can see some roses peaking out from the corner... those are the roses that Adam brought for me!!

It's a Wonderful Life
Last night I had a girls night with my friends Amy and Sierra. We all went to Amy's house and watched "It's a Wonderful Life" Amy made us some quiche and corn casserole. Both were delicious considering Amy is a great cook and is in the midst of starting a catering business. We also had some hot chocolate and cookies. We had so much fun! The movie made me cry... of course, I am pretty emotional... but it's such a wonderfully made movie. I hope that they have this movie on DVD. I would love to own it. It's a movie I would watch over and over every year.

Beautiful stuff from Anthropologie

I didn't come into work today until 11:00 so I had some time to browse some of my favorite places online today... I found a bunch of things that I like at anthropologie.com. I love the lace cardigan and the two sweaters. The red one is especially beautiful. I love the necklace and the stocking is adorable!!! I bet I could make a stocking like that easily though.

I won!
Hoops and Yoyo
I love Hoops and Yoyo!! A few months ago I discovered them while browsing Hallmark.com for some e-cards to send to friends. They know how to bring a smile to my face. Anyone reading this should definitely check out their personal website by clicking right here! If they don't at least make you smile, then you must be a very grumpy insensitive person!!On their website they have a bunch of cool stuff... like you can print out a cute checkerboard and cute little cards!
My sweet and thoughtful husband!

It just started out as a bad day today. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed I guess... I was impatient with Adam and I'm sure it didn't help him at all to be in a good mood. When I got to work and restarted my computer, there were 5 viruses on my computer!!! GRRRRRRR!!!! THe good thing was that Tim, our computer expert helped me fix all the glitches. But projects started getting piled on top of me... "Train this person, will ya?" and "Will you please do this for me? Oh... and also this..." and "You're so good at typing... will you type this up for me?"... and my computer WAS NOT WORKING TO DO THESE THINGS AND THINGS WERE JUST PILING UP!!! And THEN to make things worse, Adam wrote me an e-mail to tell me that the thing I wanted most for Christmas (this really cute jewelry holder from Pottery Barn) was no longer available. :^(. I was really sad... I tried my best to have a good attitude because I know my attitude is up to me, but it just didn't work. I must add that today is our Annual Company Christmas Party for all the employees. They always give away some great prizes including a big screen TV. Adam had written me an e-mail that said "I hope you win the big screen TV!!!" and I had replied "I doubt it by the way things are going today".Then I got this phone call from Adam. He wanted to know if my day had gotten any better. I told him no and he said some sweet things that made me a least want to try harder to have a better day. Then, if that wasn't enough, he asked if I had some time to come downstairs. "You're here?" I asked him, and he said he was! I put on my coat, ran downstairs and through the doors where he was waiting in the parking lot in his truck. I climbed in and noticed he was holding a dozen red roses for me!! He said "I know they're cheap... they're from Kroger, but it was the closest place to buy them. I just wanted to do something to cheer you up." I was so touched. And you know... it really helped me see the bright side of things.... like how I have a wonderful husband who loves me and wants me to be happy. As I got out of the car, I said to him.. "Maybe I'll win that TV afterall!" Afterall, I am now having a great day, and have a beautiful vase of red roses to look at and smell on my desk.

I'm really in the Christmas Spirit now!!
Second of all... we got a new couch from Adam's mother! It's a lovely thing and looks great in our very small living room. Beats the $100 Futon couch that we bought at Target. Adam is actually kind of sad that both won't fit. But I told him we didn't have to throw the futon away... we could store it at my parents until we got a bigger place. We loved pulling it out when we watched TV because it was like watching TV in bed! They don't go together though, and would have looked awful in the same room as far as I was concerned... me being the perfectionist that I am I wasn't going to have mis-matched furniture!!
Later in the evening we met my family at Bangkok House (Thai food... yum yum) and ate together. The owners love me and love to come speak Thai with me. It's so much fun, and I love the Thai people. Sweet people... and although I don't go eat there as much as I want to, (every few months) they always remember my name. I had my favorite massamun curry. I crave that stuff all of the time. The sad thing about going to a Thai restaurant and speaking Thai is that I realize I am getting really rusty. I need to practice speaking/reading/writing the language more. I need to add that to the list of things I would do if I had more time. Actually, I need to MAKE the time to do that.
After the delicious Thai food we went to the Christmas Collage Concert at UK... the best concert of the year (or so I've decided). My big little brother Seth (He is about 6'6") is in the UK choir and so he was part of the splendor. There was also a bell choir. I used to be in one of those when I was in elementary school!!! Brought back memories... Also part of the concert was a children't chorus, a steel band, a saxaphone quartet (which I really loved), a woodwind quartet, and others. It was a wonderful concert. It didn't put me to sleep. I stayed wide awake! Beautiful music. Nothing puts me in the mood more than music does. The last number was appropriate... they all sang Silent Night. As the song approached closing, the lights were dimmed to darkness and a few of the choir members held up lights. (either a candle or lighter) It made it look like stars twinkling in a dark sky and it made me think of the night so long ago when Christ was born. What a silent and holy night that must have been.

Cute Pics of my neice, Autumn

1. One of the first smiles seen by the world by my cute neice Autumn. 2. I guess Chelsea was having an extra bad day with Autumn and decided that she would punish her by putting her in a "little devil" outfit. CUTE! 3.The last one is when Autumn fell asleep while I was baby-sitting her. She looked like a little angel. I actually drew a picture of her.
